From HK to US
In 2018, I had the privilege of becoming a Fung Scholar, which provided me with a scholarship for a MedTech internship in China. This opportunity was a significant professional milestone, exposing me to cutting-edge technology and innovative practices in the medical field. The experience broadened my horizons and deepened my understanding of global medical advancements.
The internship marked the beginning of a rewarding engagement with the Fung Scholars network. Attending the leadership summit in Shanghai was a particularly enriching experience. Surrounded by inspiring leaders and fellow scholars, I felt a strong sense of community and shared purpose. It was here that I realized the power of collective ambition and the impact we could make together.
Motivated by a desire to give back, I brought my experience from the Oxford Strategy Group to the network, offering community engagement strategies. This was my way of contributing to a cause that had already given me so much. Writing for the Fung Scholars Bulletin about Lafiya Nigeria, the global health nonprofit I founded, allowed me to share our mission with a broader audience and highlight critical health issues.
One of the most memorable moments of my journey was moderating a discussion between Dr. Shen, the former EVP of Microsoft, and Dr. Fung. This experience underscored the extraordinary opportunities the Fung Scholars network provides. It was a chance to engage with thought leaders and delve into meaningful dialogues that inspire change.
Reflecting on my journey, I am filled with gratitude. The Fung Scholarship has not only advanced my career but also allowed me to live out my values of giving back and fostering community. It has been a journey of growth, leadership, and service, and I am proud to be part of this incredible network.
