The Fung Scholars Program nurtures future world leaders through supporting university students to experience different cultures and environments early in their careers.

Supporting programmes
The purpose of the Innovation Hub West is to provide facilities with advanced tools and materials for research and prototyping on the MIT campus. Please visit MIT News for more detail.
The support of the Foundation has allowed Harvard Asia Centre to develop a global network of young scholars in collaboration with The Asia Global Institute of The University of Hong Kong and the enhancement of the facility of Fung Library.
The Foundation supported Harvard University to develop, operate, and launch the ChinaX Hybrid Program – Teaching China’s History Online, which is the bilingual, online version of a General Education survey of Chinese history in hybrid ( that combines elements of online learning and traditional learning) educational models that incorporate technology.
Cooperating with the Hong Kong Institute of Service Leadership and Management and eight tertiary institutions in Hong Kong, to promote a new model of service leadership and learning in the post-industrial age, with the objective of preparing undergraduates to be more effective leaders in their career and community life.
The Fellowship serves to promote and enhance knowledge and skills of medical practitioners across ASEAN countries and China.
The Project aims to provide better vocational training to, and to enhance the employability of, urban migrant youth through innovative solutions.
The Fund was established at Harvard Business School in 2013 to deepen the faculties’ global understanding and to support a wide range of faculty development activities.
The Fund supports the Joint Hong Kong Polytechnic University – Peking University China Social Work Research Centre to provide better coordination for collaborative research endeavours between the two universities, develop better linkages with stakeholders and government ministries.

The Foundation sponsored the Hong Kong Business Consulting Practicum, a programme of the Faculty of Business and Economics, at The University of Hong Kong. The aim of the Practicum is to provide a platform for students to gain hands-on business consulting experience while benefitting the business community by way of providing free consulting services to local SMEs and social enterprises. This initiative also aims to help students develop community spirit and a caring disposition.
The Foundation sponsored the Global Citizens Programme organised by The Dragon Foundation. It enabled 30 undergraduates from Hong Kong to participate in a research project at Stanford University and Silicon Valley in June 2013, on the theme of social media in action. Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of latest social media trends, strategies, design and impacts. Pre-departure training and debriefing sessions were organised in Hong Kong.
The Brookings Institution is a non-profit public policy organisation based in Washington, DC with an active programme in China and Asia. The purpose of the Foundation’s grant was to co-sponsor a Visiting Fellow each year from Hong Kong through the Brookings’ Center for Northeast Asian Policy Studies (CNAPS). Fellows conducted individual research and collaborative activities, interacted with the U.S. policy-making community, and took part in policy seminars, roundtables and discussions at Brookings. The Visiting Fellow from Hong Kong for 2006-07 was Ms. Rikkie Yeung, Director of SynergyNet.
The Global Citizenship Programme, organised by The Dragon Foundation and sponsored by the Victor and William Fung Foundation, took 30 undergraduates to Bangkok to participate in research into Sustainable Development Opportunities and Challenges: Global, Regional and Local Levers for Migration Issues. Participants visited international organisations, and joined classroom lectures, field studies, panel discussions and workshops. Pre-departure training and report-back sessions were organised in Hong Kong.
The Foundation supported this English learning programme for students from primary 1 to 3. The IELP is a two-year project that introduces innovative teaching methods to help teachers create an environment in their classrooms that is conductive to language learning. Students in schools selected for the project include those from families with below-average incomes.Innovative teaching methods create a fun-filled learning atmosphere where students are motivated to learn English.
The Foundation established the Fung Family Chinese Teaching Fellow Fund to provide resources for the teaching of Chinese at St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire, and for professional development activities there.
