At 7:25am, WANG Junyi (FS2013-14, Nanjing University), SUN Shichao (FS2013-14, Fudan University), HU Mingxiang (FS2013-14, Fudan University) and myself started our 50-km One-Egg Walkathon from Jinshanwei Railway Station, Shanghai. One-Egg Walkathon is a charitable event that encourages participants to raise money for 24 children-related charitable programs. The rain was heavy, but we had prepared ourselves with the bad weather and supported each other during the whole trip. Thanks to the perseverance and team cohesion, all of us successfully reached the finish line at 6:40pm. The 675-minutes walking not only physically challenged our limit, but more importantly trained our persistence and build confidence mentally. None of us would forget how energetic we felt at the start point, how exhausted we were during the last 10kms and how excited we were when hearing the music played from the finish point. Upon arriving at the finish point, we smiled and shouted again and again “Yes, we can!” Our team has successfully met our goal and raised over RMB1,000 from the public.
