The UNICEF Charity Run 2016 originally scheduled on 27 November 2016 was unfortunately cancelled due to adverse weather and obviously disappointed all Fung Scholar Runners. With efforts and arrangements made by Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF, the event was later re-scheduled to 19 March 2017 and livened up our sport spirit in running for charity again!
The event took place successfully yesterday at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Sunny Bay. I believe every single Fung Scholar runner enjoyed the running together and was proud of finishing the race, because you can easily find all Fung Scholars runners wearing smiles on their faces after the run and feel their sense of achievement! I feel proud being able to organize the event and getting inspired by them as well.
14 Fung Scholars runners out of 19 showed up and completed their challenges wonderfully. 3 runners who completed Half Marathon were even awarded a Silver Pendant. Congratulations!
We, Fung Scholars, have raised HKD$9,880 successfully this year, being almost 0.01 % of the total donation of HKD$11,000,000 UNICEF raised. It will surely contribute to help children in need.
