Hong Kong Chapter – From Darkness to Sunrise City Orienteering Competition

About the Event

The Victor and William Fung Foundation supported 4 Hong Kong Fung Scholars to participate in the “From Darkness to Sunrise” City Orienteering Competition, on 28 – 29 November 2015 to raise fund for The Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong which provides suicide prevention services in Hong Kong. The competition aims at promoting the message of “Cherishing Life, Living Positive”.  Through the competition, participants had to make judgments and select the best way in an unknown place to pass through various checkpoints and overcome the obstacles which faced. The competition not only trained the problem solving skills and determination of the participants, but also tested the communication and cooperation of the team. Upon finishing the race in the dark, the participants enjoyed sunrise at the finished point, which symbolizes the brightness in our life.
