Fung Scholars and Fung Fellows are cordially invited to attend the upcoming Fung Scholars Leadership Conference 2025, which will take place on October 4-5, 2025 in Hong Kong, themed Navigating the Tariff War: Leadership Under Fire. We shall explore the implications of the ongoing trade war, including its impact on global supply chains, economic strategies, and the role of leadership in fostering resilience and innovation during these turbulent times.
This year’s conference is jointly organized with the Asia Global Institute, and the AsiaGlobal Fellows will be joining the Fung Scholars and Fung Fellows to share their insights and experiences on trending topics: ESG & Inclusive Leadership in the Age of Disconnection. This presents a great opportunity to exchange ideas and perspectives with one another.
Fung Scholars and Fung Fellows are invited to be speakers of the Ideas Polygram, a popular peer-to-peer sharing platform for you to present your projects and start-ups.
Local Tour for all Fung Scholars and Fung Fellows will be organized to experience the vibrant culture of the local area and an excursion to visit Centre for Heritage Arts & Textile (CHAT), The Mills, Hong Kong.

About CHAT
CHAT (Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile) is Hong Kong’s textile heritage museum located on 2/F of The Mills, the former cotton-spinning mills of Nan Fung Textiles in Tsuen Wan. Opened in March 2019, CHAT offers new knowledge while nurturing ideas and talents through exhibitions, workshops and community programmes. Committed to preserving local tangible and intangible textile heritage, CHAT invites everyone to experience the innovative spirit of Hong Kong’s textile industry and engage in new dialogues and inspirational journeys that interweave heritage, arts and textile.
Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile
Innovative spirit of Hong Kong’s textile industry
Inspired by the fundamental structure of warps and wefts in woven textile, CHAT’s logo reflects their mission – to integrate different voices, disciplines and practices. Eight distinctive colors were developed from architectural features in the factory buildings as well as features reminiscent of Hong Kong’s textile industry.
By volunteering, you will have the opportunity to be part of the core team of organizing the Conference. Currently, we are recruiting volunteers to assist with the conference for a range of roles, including:
Registration Desk Helpers
You will be responsible for checking in attendees and distributing name tags. If we have enough volunteers, we can create a roster to ensure that you also have the opportunity to mingle with other Fung Scholars. A 10 mins-online briefing will be organized nearer the time.
Emcee
You will host and facilitate the conference program, keeping the Conference on schedule. A preliminary script will be provided to you. Rehearsal before the Conference is required. An online interview will be arranged for this role.
Speakers
As a panel speaker, you will be sharing your experiences and insights on ESG and Mental Health issues. A strong understanding of these topics is advantageous for this role. A travel subsidy will be provided to support your participation, and an interview will be required as part of the selection process.
Moderators
As the Moderator, you will play an important role in the panel discussion with the speakers, including introducing speakers, manage the Q&A session, and keep track of time. Have a good understanding of the topics of or work experiences relating to the topics would be an advantage. We shall provide a subsidy to cover your travel expenses. An online interview will be arranged for this role.
This year, we will have three moderators overseeing three distinct discussions:
Hong Kong Ambassadors
As part of the team, you will be responsible for organizing cultural activities, including local food tastings and tours, for overseas and mainland Fung Scholars on the evening of October 4. A small sum of subsidies will be provided to help offset the cost of meals and activities. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase our unique cultural offerings and to connect with Fung Scholars and Fung Fellows from diverse backgrounds.
If you are interested in joining our team, please sign up. We look forward to working with you and making this conference a great success.
