Dr. William K. Fung, SBS, OBE, JP, is the Group Deputy Chairman of the Fung Group of companies, a Hong Kong-based multinational engaged in trading, logistics, distribution and retailing.

He serves as Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Convenience Retail Asia Limited, a publicly listed company within the Fung Group. He was the Group Chairman of Li & Fung Limited (privatized in May 2020) until October 2020. Together with his brother, Victor Fung, Dr. Fung played a leading role in driving the development of the supply chain infrastructure at Li & Fung Limited, which enabled it to become the leading consumer goods design, development, sourcing, and logistics company for major retailers and brands around the world.

Dr. Fung has previously held key positions in major trade and business associations. He is a former Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association and the Hong Kong Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC). He was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in 2008.

Dr. Fung is an independent non-executive director of VTech Holdings Limited, Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited and The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited.

Dr. Fung graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business, degrees of Doctor of Business Administration (honoris causa) from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong Kong Baptist University and a degree of Doctor of Letters (honoris causa) from Wawasan Open University of Malaysia.

Dr. Fung is married with one adult child.

Mr. Andrew Sheng is Distinguished Fellow of the Asia Global Institute, The University of Hong Kong. He is Chief Adviser to the China Banking Regulatory Commission; a Board Member of Khazanah Nasional Berhad (the sovereign wealth fund of the Government of Malaysia); and a member of the international advisory councils of China Investment Corporation (CIC), China Development Bank, the China Securities Regulatory Commission, and the Securities and Exchange Board of India. He is also an adviser to the UN Environment Program’s Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System. He holds the post of Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, Beijing and the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.

Previously, Mr. Andrew Sheng served as President of the Fung Global Institute, Hong Kong, as Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, and as a central banker with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Bank Negara Malaysia (the Central Bank of Malaysia). He has also worked at the World Bank and chaired the Technical Committee of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). In 2009, he became Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Tun Abdul Razak in Malaysia. A chartered accountant by training, he has a BSc in Economics and an honorary doctorate from the University of Bristol and the University of Malaya.

Mr. Andrew Sheng’s areas of expertise include international finance and monetary economics, financial regulation and global governance. He is a columnist for Project Syndicate, Asia News Network and leading economic journals and newspapers in China and Asia at large. He is the author of From Asian to Global Financial Crisis: An Asian Regulator’s View of Unfettered Finance in the 1990s and 2000s. He co-edited the book, Bringing Shadow Banking into the Light: Opportunity for Financial Reform in China, with Ng Chow Soon.

Dr. Victor K. Fung is Chairman of Fung Investments, the Fung Family’s private investment arm which invests strategically in companies poised to transform retail, supply chain, and logistics, and forms influential partnerships across these sectors. Previously, Dr. Fung played a pivotal role in driving the evolution of the supply chain ecosystem within the Family’s flagship company Li & Fung, enabling it to become the leading consumer goods design, development, sourcing, and logistics company for major retailers and brands around the world.

Dr. Fung is Chairman of the Asia Global Institute at the University of Hong Kong, a multi-disciplinary think-tank contributing to international discourse on global issues from Asian perspectives. He is also Chairman of the 2022 Foundation, a non-profit entity focused on research into Hong Kong’s long-term competitiveness and Chairman of the Victor and William Fung Foundation, whose focus is the nurturing of human capital and supporting educational programs.

n Hong Kong, Dr. Fung is Chairman of the Global STEM Professorship Scheme Assessment Panel and a member of the Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers. He is a director of the Hong Kong Investment Corporation as well as a member of Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Exchange Fund Advisory Committee. He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance.

Dr. Fung is a former Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (1991-2000), a Hong Kong representative on the APEC Business Advisory Council (1996-2003), Chairman of the Airport Authority Hong Kong (1999-2008), Chairman of the Council of The University of Hong Kong (2001-2009), Chairman of the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council (2004-2013), Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme (2014-2018) and Chairman of the Civil Service Training Advisory Board (2019-2024).

n the Chinese Mainland, he is a member of the International Business Leaders Advisory Council for the Mayor of Beijing, a member of the Advisory Board of the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, an Honorary Trustee of Peking University and an Honorary Professor of Renmin University. He is a former member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (2003-2018), and Vice-Chairman of the China Centre for International Economic Exchanges (2009-2014).

Dr. Fung played a leadership role from 2007 in the Paris-based International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), of which he was the first Chairman from Asia (2008-2010). He co-Chaired the ICC’s Advisory Group on Trade Finance (2020-2021). From 2012 to 2013, he was a member of the World Trade Organization’s panel on Defining the Future of Trade. He was also a member of APEC’s vision-setting Eminent Persons Group (1993-1995).

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Dr. Fung holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After gaining his Doctorate in Business Economics from Harvard University, he taught as a professor at Harvard Business School before returning to the family business in Hong Kong in 1976.

Mr. Kai-man Wong is an Executive Director of Victor and William Fung Foundation; past Non-Executive Director of the Securities and Futures Commission (2009-2015), Hong Kong; Past member of the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council, Hong Kong (2014-2021); past Court and Council Member of The University of Hong Kong (2010- 2017); Council Member of the City University of Hong Kong (2007-2012) and Lingnan University (1999-2006). He was an Honorary Associate Professor, School of Business, The University of Hong Kong (2005 – 2018). He is a past and current Independent Non- Executive Director of five listed companies and a retail bank in Hong Kong. Mr Wong also serves on the boards of several non-governmental organisations and has served on government advisory committees and statutory bodies in the areas of land, immigration, energy, law-enforcement, education and technology.

Mr. Wong was an audit partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), Hong Kong with 32 years of audit, Initial Public Offer, due diligence and computer audit experience in London and Hong Kong offices of PwC. He retired as a partner on 30 June 2005.

Mr. Wong obtained his Bachelor of Science in Physics from The University of Hong Kong and Master of Business Administration from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom and a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Wong was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 2002 and was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2007 by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He was conferred an honorary fellow of the Lingnan University, Hong Kong in 2007, City University of Hong Kong in 2013 and The University of Hong Kong in 2016.
