About Crossroads Foundation

Crossroads Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Hong Kong
The organization aims to serve global needs and connect people in need with those who can provide assistance
They focus on humanitarian aid efforts targeted toward entrenched poverty
They collect high-quality goods donated by the Hong Kong community and redistribute them to NGOs in over 95 countries
They follow up and obtain feedback to track the effectiveness of the distribution and
the sustainability of its outcomes

During volunteering, you might be asked to help…

Sorting and packing donated goods e.g. household goods, clothing, electrical goods, computers, books etc.
Heavy work e.g. moving furniture, preparing cartons for shipment, unloading donated goods off trucks etc. Get a good work out while helping the poor!
Site maintenance/care including painting, gardening, landscaping, maintenance.
Container loadings: Almost every week, Crossroads Foundation load a container with donated goods bound for NGOs in nations all over the world to provide help for communities and the people they care for.

What to bring?

Please wear closed toe shoes and appropriate outdoor clothing.
Do not wear short shorts/skirts or spaghetti straps.
We advise you to bring mosquito repellent, sun/rain protection, a personal water bottle which can be refilled at various water stations around the site.
Some money for purchasing products in our fair trade café and shop.

How can you get there?

From Hong Kong Island:

Take 952 from Hong Kong Island. Alight one stop after the ‘Hong Kong Gold Coast’ bus stop, at the stop called ‘Golden Beach’. Cross the road and we are almost directly opposite. Walk a few meters towards the Gold Coast Piazza until you see a round building with red trims.

From Kowloon:

The following buses come directly to Crossroads from various parts of Kowloon: 61M, 52X, 53. Minibuses: Green 140M, Red ‘Yuen Long’ minibus from Parkes Street, Jordan.

Alternatively, you can take any bus that goes to the Tuen Mun Road Interchange. Proceed to the lower level and change to 962, 952, 52X,53 or 61M bus.

From Yuen Long direction:

The following buses come directly to Crossroads from Tuen Mun MTR station. K53, K51 (cross Heung Sze Wui Road to find the bus stop).

Minibuses: Green 43

Alight at the stop “Golden Beach”. Walk towards the Gold Coast Shopping Mall for about 100m until you see a round building with red trims.
