On 6 July 2013, Fung Scholars (Hong Kong Chapter) initiated a tour to HKBU Academy of Visual Arts BA (AVA) Graduation Exhibition, Mingle-Mangle. A group of 10 Fung Scholars have had a great afternoon in Kai Tak Campus. It was not only an occasion for participants to take a glimpse of student’s works, but also a chance for Fung Scholars to share their thoughts on art appreciation.
Harry CHOI (FS 2011-12, Hong Long Polytechnic University)“In AVA, I observed and appreciated different art works. Generally, most of them were related to our practical daily life and their purposes were mainly to convey messages which was very “HK-like”
Frank LEE (FS 2012-13, Hong Long Polytechnic University) “We are not living in our own world individually but connecting with each others. I found that there were so many interesting pieces could fully reveal the emotions and characteristics of the painter or creator”
Gilbert LEUNG (FS 2011-12, Lingan University) “It was a nice afternoon to gather a group of Fung Scholars to visit the exhibition. The graduates presented their ideas through different types of art work and gave us some thoughts about daily life”
Chung TONG (FS 2007-08, City University of Hong Kong) “It’s my first time to participate FS activity, I would love to see more casual activities like this art & culture one which allow more interaction between people. For the formal business conference or talk, it’s great but you just merely listen.”
Ivy WONG (FS2011-12, University of Hong Kong) “Stop and stare. Pause and snap. Sometimes, we are so absorbed in our routinised life that we become numbed to the beauty of things surrounding us. Living in this fast-paced city, the visit reminds me to slow down, stop and stare, and appreciate not only with our eyes but also a grateful heart and mind”
