To strengthen the Fung Scholars network, the Singapore Chapter annually organizes a Bonding Session to provide opportunities for interaction between the existing and alumni Fung Scholars community. This year, the Singapore Chapter

Bonding Session 2015 was held on 30 May 2015, kindly sponsored by the Victor & William Fung Foundation.

The event was organized at Xcape Singapore, the most popular choice for escape room games in Singapore. With a fun and friendly atmosphere, the Scholars had an enjoyable time working in teams to solve the escape room games. They shared many memorable moments together and were excited to discuss about the games even after it has ended. A total of 10 Fung Scholars attended the Bonding Event, with 4 existing Scholars and 6 alumni members. After the escape room games, the Scholars headed for lunch nearby. The alumni members shared their working experiences and perspectives regarding the corporate world, and Scholars that returned from their Exchange Programme also exchanged travel tips and fond memories of their experiences studying abroad.

As participants hailed from varying cohorts of Fung Scholars, the Networking Session also provided opportunities for Scholars to interact and connect with each other, strengthening the Scholars community. In fact, the Event was attended by two overseas Fung Scholars: Anthony SOROKA (FS2009-10, Princeton University) from the United States who is currently working in Singapore and Yuren ZHOU (FS2012-13 ,Harbin Technology Institute) who is currently pursuing his

post-graduate studies in Singapore.

During the Event, the Scholars discussed about the upcoming Leadership Conference to be held in Singapore. Everyone was excited to contribute in one way or another and shared their thoughts about it. The Scholars are all looking forward to seeing each other again at the Leadership Conference.

Through the forging of new networks and friendships between Scholars from diverse background, the Bonding Event was a successful and enjoyable session and we would like to thank the Foundation for its support and funding for the Event. The Singapore Chapter hopes to continue connecting members across cohorts, and strengthening bonds within the Scholars’ network through events and projects.
