We Care Event: China Jenga’s Free Shenzhen Trip to Urban Villages

About the Event

To understand more about Shenzhen urban villages and get exposed to the different “layers” of rapidly-developing Chinese societies, 3 Hong Kong FS joined a two-day weekend trip to Shenzhen organised by an NGO, We Care. We Care was cofounded by Vicky KUNG (FS2010-11, The University of Hong Kong) and four friends in 2013 to advocate for social inclusion in Hong Kong. The trip to 盛平城中村 in Shenzhen is a collaboration with Shenzhen University’s student union and a local NGO working with underprivileged migrant children at Shengping urban village in Longgang. The trip aims to promote understand between young people from Hong Kong and the mainland China.
