Welcoming Gathering 2016-17 (1st Semester) @ HKU

About the Event

On 27 August 2016, a Welcoming Gathering was held for the new cohort of mainland Fung Scholars who come to exchange at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in Fall semester 2016. The event was attended by 31 Fung Scholars from Fudan University, Hong Kong Baptist University, Nanjing University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Sun Yat-sen University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, HKU, Tsinghua University, Xiamen University and Zhejiang University. The event was kicked off with a warm welcoming speech by Mr. KM WONG, Director of the Victor and William Fung Foundation. Mr. Wong also introduced the Victor and William Fung Foundation to the new Fung Scholars. After the introduction by Mr. WONG, five senior Fung Scholars, Ross CHEUNG (FS2008-09, Hong Kong Baptist University), Boyang MENG (FS2012-13, Harbin Institute of Technology), Jiahong SHEN (FS2015-16, Fudan University), Menglu YU (FS2013-14, Peking University) and Yawen ZHAO (FS2014-15, Sun Yat-sen University) were invited to share their study, exchange and working experiences with the participants. An ice-breaking game was played at the end of the gathering. It was a truly delightful and inspiring morning for all the participants.
