To learn more about the future of UK-China relations, and to get to know both London and Oxford Fung Scholars, 10 Fung Scholars joined the Oxford China Forum 2017 (OCF) on 18 February 2017. OCF is a student-run, annual forum aiming to provide insights into the shifting economic, political, and cultural landscapes in modern China. We went out for lunch as a group to a local Chinese restaurant, which gave everyone the chance to get to know each other, and to discuss the interesting topics and insights that we had listened to in the morning.
As one of the most prestigious forums on China in the United Kingdom, OCF 2017 brought together leading experts on China and the brightest students from across top UK universities to participate in vibrant discussions on the largest emerging country in the world. The 2017 forum had four panels focussing on the following topics:
The Forum had a number of high profile speakers and it was fascinating hearing their views, and getting the opportunity to ask questions in the discussion afterwards. Adam KNIGHT (FS2012-13, University of Oxford), himself a Fung Scholar, was on the media panel.

The event prompted interesting discussions about China’s future, and was a great opportunity to meet people who share an interest in China, both other London Fung Scholars, students from Oxford and other universities, and professionals from a range of organisations. We received a lot of good feedback from the London Fung Scholars who attended, saying how interesting they found it.
