Leadership in the Service Era

The Fung Scholars Leadership Conference 2015 was successfully held on 9-11 October 2015 in Singapore. The theme of the Conference was “Leadership in the Service Era”. It was attended by over 100 Fung Scholars and Fung Fellows from different countries. The first day of the conference was held at the Singapore Management University and the second day at the National University of Singapore.

We were honored to have Dr. Victor K. FUNG, Chairman of Victor & William Fung Foundation, Prof. Michael FRESE, Head of the Management & Organisation Department, National University of Singapore and Mr. Po CHUNG, Co-Founder of DHL International, Founder of The Hong Kong Institute of Service Leadership & Management, to be the speakers of the event.

In this Conference, participants learnt and integrated theories, research, and concepts of service leadership. The Conference and workshop provided an opportunity for the participants to explore the applications of the Service Leadership and Management model in different areas to enhance personal development, wellness of oneself, others, and the society.

Apart from the formal conference setting, an Entrepreneurship Seminar was held on the first evening of the Conference. The Seminar brought entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Singapore to share their stories and experiences. The diverse perspectives of the panelists made the panel very interesting and inspiring.

On the third day of the Conference, a group of Singapore-based Fung Scholars organised cultural events for the overseas Fung Scholars. They visited Chinatown, Maxwell Food Centre, Merlion, Marina Bay Sands, Helix Bridge and Asian Civilization Museum to explore the cultural and historical side of the country.
